Rillet – Making complex finance feel clear
Rillet is an AI-native ERP for accounting teams. I joined at seed stage and helped shape the product experience from the ground up as the company grew to a $1 billion valuation in 2026. My work focused on the decisions accountants make every day: understanding a record, reviewing a change, and moving the close forward with the right context and confidence.
That growth sharpened my approach: start with the customer’s job and the reality of accounting work, then build clear, reusable patterns that can scale. The work below shows how a modern ERP can guide work as it happens and give accountants more room for judgment. The approval showcase uses local Rillet design work; record and close views are simplified illustrations and show no customer data.

Record details
Accounting records carry context, activity, line items, and consequential next actions. I worked on detail pages for bills and invoices, clarifying the relationship between the record header, tables, activity, and contextual actions.
The design makes the most useful information easier to scan and keeps complex operations close to the record they affect. Shared components let the same interaction quality carry across different record types.

Approval workflows
Approvals need to show who is responsible, what changed, and what can happen next. I designed reusable reviewer chains, approval cards, decision controls, and requested-change views that separate reviewer and requester actions.
States such as due dates, overdue work, decisions, cancellation, and read-only access remain legible within the same system. The result is a workflow that gives people confidence before they act.

Close management
In close management, the work stretches across checklists, reconciliations, and detailed financial schedules. I worked on patterns that help teams understand progress and move between overview and detail without losing context.
These patterns include responsive action areas and clear previews of schedule adjustments and GL impact. They aim to reduce the effort of checking consequences before changes are committed.

A system that scales
The strongest part of this work is the connective tissue: shared Roo components, consistent interaction states, thoughtful accessibility, and patterns that teams can reuse as the ERP grows. I look for the smallest coherent system that solves the accountant’s task well and gives Rillet a recognizable way of working. Clear states, human approval, and visible consequences also create the foundation for useful automation without hiding the work from the people responsible for it.
